OmSpace Emergence 6.0: Inside 6 Years of Turning Vision Into Reality

OmSpace Rocket and Exploration Pvt Ltd (OSRE), an Ahmedabad-based private space company, celebrated its sixth anniversary at Emergence 6.0, a summit themed "Vision to Reality," held at Crowne Plaza Ahmedabad. The event brought together former ISRO scientists, international investors, government representatives, and OmSpace's engineering team to mark six years of progress toward India's first reusable rocket for small satellites.

Six years ago, OmSpace Rocket and Exploration Pvt Ltd set out with a simple but audacious goal: build a reusable launch vehicle for small satellites, in India, from the ground up. On the evening of Emergence 6.0, that goal stopped being a slide in a pitch deck and started looking like an industrial roadmap with dates, hardware, and a factory floor attached to it.

Held under the theme "Vision to Reality," the sixth annual OmSpace summit wasn't a product launch or an investor pitch  it was a progress report, delivered in front of the people who have watched the company's engineering discipline up close: former ISRO scientists, global investors, government representatives, vendors, and the OmSpace team itself.

A Message From the Founder's Desk

In his address, Dr. Ravindra Raj BM, Founder & CEO of OmSpace, framed the anniversary as a milestone that belongs to the people who did the work, not just the company that employs them:

"This milestone belongs entirely to our extraordinary engineering team, whose daily operational discipline and precise technical execution command physics. Together with our visionary investors, we have built a sustainable industrial engine fully prepared for our next giant leap."

On stage, he was more direct about what the next phase looks like: "We are no longer testing boundaries; we are scaling our entire industrial capacity. With deep investor backing, Emergence 6.0 marks our transition into a mature global launch provider."

A Government Endorsement, From the Home State

OmSpace's Chief Guest for the evening was Shri Amit Thaker Ji, Honourable MLA of Vejalpur, Gujarat, who spoke about what a homegrown aerospace company means for the state's industrial ambitions:

"It's a proud moment to see a homegrown aerospace company reach its sixth year right here in Gujarat. OMSPACE is putting our state on the map in a sector very few Indian states have entered."

What ISRO's Veterans Had to Say

Perhaps the most telling endorsements came from scientists who spent their careers on India's own launch vehicle programme. Dr. Nawaal Kishore Gupta, who spent four decades in liquid engine development at ISRO working alongside Mr. Nambi Narayanan on the Vikas engine, described recognizing something familiar in OmSpace's culture: "a team that isn't spectating, but playing."

Dr. Subbarao BV, a former ISRO scientist who built India's ground tracking radar systems, connected the company's name to its ambition: "Om is Omkaram  the beginning, in our tradition. Watching OMSPACE launch Gujarat's first private sounding rocket felt like witnessing that beginning firsthand."

Prof. RR Elangovan and Dr. Murthy Remilla, also former ISRO scientists, both spoke to the same theme  that going from a sounding rocket to a reusable launch vehicle takes discipline that can't be faked, and that OmSpace has earned six years of credibility in an industry that "punishes shortcuts," as advisor Mr. Sudarshan Singh put it.

The Announcements That Anchored the Evening

Emergence 6.0 wasn't only ceremonial. Two concrete milestones anchored the evening:

• The OmSpace Gigafactory blueprint was unveiled, marking the company's stated shift from prototyping toward high-volume manufacturing, with dedicated cleanrooms, composite bays, and hardware integration zones.

• The company's March 2026 sounding rocket success the state's first domestic sounding rocket launch, with a flawless dual-parachute recovery  was presented as hard proof of the core launch vehicle technology behind OmSpace's reusable rocket ambitions.

A significant part of Emergence 6.0 was dedicated to recognition of the engineering workforce that turns "bold orbital designs into physical reality," the investor and vendor network backing OmSpace's expansion, and the internal organizing team that ran the summit itself. It's a detail worth noting for anyone evaluating OmSpace as a workplace or partner: this is a company that treats its six-year anniversary as a moment to credit its engineers and suppliers by name, not just its leadership.

India's private space sector is still young, and companies that can point to six consecutive years of engineering progress  plus a flown vehicle, ISRO-veteran advisors, and international investment  are rare.
